"My artistic practice involves photography and moving image. I am interested in female bodies in the public domain, beauty standards and subcultures. Embracing my role as an observer, I use photography and film projects to immerse myself in the reality of others, to create a connection between different worlds.
My research is based in the documentary field through conversations, photographing subjects not conforming directly to society’s norm, listening to podcasts focused on sociology, watching trash tv and
documentaries. From there on I create a more fictional script which leads to storytelling in moving image, fueled by my interest in psychology and the desire to stretch the lines that limit normativity. My main research method and the goal of my work are one and the same: start a conversation on unconventional topics. I love it when someone’s appearance makes others a little bit uncomfortable, that is where I meet my audience. More is more is the visual red line in my work and identities I meet."
